ABOUT MEDICAL MARIJUANA LEGALITY

The use of medical marijuana became legal in Nevada in 2001, and state-certified medical marijuana establishments, like dispensaries, became operational in 2015. As of September 1, 2018, the tribal medical marijuana program is administered by the Tribal Marijuana Enforcement Division of Nevada.

ABOUT ADULT-USE MARIJUANA

Adults 21 years and older can legally possess marijuana in the following amounts:

  • Up to 1 ounce of marijuana
  • Up to 1/8 of an ounce of concentrated marijuana (the separated resin, whether crude or purified, obtained from marijuana.

MARIJUANA FOR BUSINESS

As part of marijuana legalization, the state of Nevada and the Tribes within Nevada are responsible for regulating businesses that participate in the marijuana industry. Only businesses licensed by the state, or the individual tribes, for marijuana operations are legally allowed to grow, manufacture, test, distribute, or sell marijuana in Nevada. Consumers may only legally buy retail marijuana from a state-licensed or tribal-licensed retail store.

HOW TSAA NESUNKWA EFFECTS THE LOCAL ECONOMY

We run our dispensary for the betterment of our Ely Shoshone Tribe and the surrounding community through school supplies drives, food drives, toy drives, and other various fundraisers and promotions. We also support through donations, having previously donated funds to our White Pine County Boys and Girls Club and the Ely Shoshone Tribe's Fandango & Powwow.
